 Parkwood Hall

Parkwood is a residential/day special school set in 75 acres of woodland in Swanley Kent. The students come from across the South-East of England to obtain a specialised, highly supported education and social training. The needs of our students are complex. Their future depends on highly skilled teachers, learning support assistants and residential care workers unlocking the difficulties which exist in these young people’s lives, working with them and preparing them for adult life.

The students are identified by one common factor - that of not learning easily. Many suffer additional problems such as medical conditions, a syndrome or behavioural difficulties that compounds their educational and social problems. Classes are small and every opportunity is made to remedy poor reading or maths skills. This is the key of all progress both educationally or socially.

Threshers Day Nursery

The charity was founded in 1972. Originally its home was a wooden hut in Rookery Gardens. The nursery cares for children between the ages of two and five years. Some have special needs and at Threshers they receive love, care and security as well as regular meals, clothing, opportunities to learn and play, toys, healthcare monitoring and a happy environment to thrive in, which is so vital to their future living.  The Nursery is open fifty-two weeks from 9.30am-6pm.  It can only continue with the support from the Fund Raising committee and with contributions from events such as this.

With the donations received, they have been able to buy 12 new scooters, 3 bikes, 2 go-carts, more craft items and are looking forward to having the playground refurbished.
